The tar has broken up already, which was over the cobbled street and manholes have been covered up. The cost of laying tar on historic Aberdeen cobbles – and subsequently removing it after a public outcry – has been revealed as more than £10,000. Aberdeen’s finance committee heard yesterday that the bitmac job on Windmill Brae cost £2,740 to lay and around £8,000 to remove.
