Twelve student-focussed projects at Robert Gordon University (RGU) have been awarded funding from philanthropic donations.
The projects range from student welfare support to widening access to higher education. Examples are RGU Radio and RGU Nightline, an anonymous listening service for students.
The RGU Foundation’s Annual Fund, which raises vital cash from alumni, staff and friends of the university, selected the projects for support.
This year the number of projects receiving financial backing from the Annual Fund reached a new record.
Josh Carroll, RGU Foundation Annual Fund manager, said: “We are extremely grateful to all the donors who have made these awards possible. It is exciting to see the first hand impact that alumni can have on the lives of current RGU students.”
A representative of the RGU Nightline team added: “It was a huge relief and a proud moment to receive a generous donation from the Annual Fund.
“It has had a huge impact already in that we now have the ability to focus on improving our service, our volunteer’s skills and providing a consistent service to the students of RGU.”
