A north-east school will be closed for nearly two weeks to allow essential electrical work to be carried out.
Aboyne Academy will be shut from October 8 for 10 days during the October break.
The work involves the installation of an electrical panel which will serve the school, library, swimming pool and community centre.
Normal opening hours will resume on October 18 with the swimming pool scheduled to reopen the following Friday.
John Harding, head of lifelong learning and leisure for the Aberdeenshire Council, said: “We have taken the opportunity to carry out these works during the October holidays so pupils at Aboyne Academy will not be affected.
“We do realise however that this means the swimming pool and other community facilities will not be available over the holidays and apologise for the inconvenience to our users and ask for their patience while we carry out this essential maintenance work.
“Other local libraries are happy to lend and receive items during the closure and nearby swimming pools at Banchory and Alford will be open for use.”
During the closure, the council is encouraging people to use Banchory Sports Centre, Alford Community Campus and nearby libraries in Ballater, Banchory and Alford.
