Heroin and cocaine with a street value of £2,000 has been recovered in the north-east.
Following an intelligence led operation involving the Community Policing Team and the Divisional Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit the recoveries were made in Peterhead and on the A90 near Fraserburgh yesterday.
A low three-figure sum of cash was also recovered.
As a result five men aged 54, 33, 32, 24 and 21 have been charged and are anticipated to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today.
Sergeant Graeme Cupples said: “This was a joint operation involving officers from the Community Policing Team as well as the Divisional Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit.
“We are committed to tackling drugs in our communities and will continue to proactively target those who wish to spread misery by dealing drugs.
