The team behind one of Scotland’s first urban community hydro schemes in Aberdeen has been named as a finalists in the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2016.
The Aberdeen Community Project (ACE) has been shortlisted as one of four finalists in the Community Project Category.
It secured the nomination for its efforts in bringing the city’s newly operational Donside Hydro to life.
The hydro, on the banks of the River Don in Tillydrone, will create a sustainable income for the local community by selling clean, renewable electricity to the national grid.
It is expected to generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of around 130 homes annually.
The winner of the award will be announced on December 1.
