A motorcyclist was seriously injured today after crashing off a country road.
Police and paramedics were called out to the horror one-vehicle accident in Aberdeenshire just after 1pm.
The biker had been travelling on the A98 Banff to Fraserburgh road near New Pitsligo when the vehicle is believed they came off the road and suffered “serious injuries”.
An air ambulance was called out to rush the casualty to hospital.
A police spokeswoman said: “The road is closed. It’s between Banff and Fraserburgh on the A98 road near New Pitsligo.
“It’s a motorcyclist with serious injuries.”
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also sent two units to help out.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “It was a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle.
“We got the call at 1.34pm. Two appliances are in attendance.
“It appears to be only one vehicle involved.”
The crash happened on the same road where another biker died three weeks ago.
Michael Reid, 29, from Peterhead, was driving along the A98 Banff to Portsoy road when his bike came off the tarmac next to a layby on a tight bend.
The motorcyclist’s blue Suzuki was the only vehicle involved in the tragedy near Boyndie in Aberdeenshire.
