Six men have been charged in relation to thefts of items worth around £9000 from properties in Aberdeen.
The incidents took places between July and October and around £6000 worth of the items stolen have now been recovered.
The men include two 15-year-olds as well as a 17, 20, 25 and 27-year-old.
Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said thefts were “harrowing for victims.”
He said: “Operation Magpie has been launched to tackle acquisitive crime in the north-east which includes thefts and house breakings.
“These types of crimes, even in cases where nothing has been taken, are particularly harrowing for victims and we are committed to carrying out retrospective inquiries to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
“I continue to urge householders to lock their doors and windows and for residents to report anything suspicious or unusual that they see in their neighbourhood to us.”
