Volunteers at a north-east lifeboat station have thanked fundraisers after receiving part of a £3,000 sum, which was collected at a recent wedding exhibition.
The cash for the Fraserburgh branch of the RNLI was amassed at an event at the Ban-Car hotel in Lonmay last month.
And now, organisers Moira Cowe of Oh So Pretty Events and Denise Milne of Fizzy Sparklez have paid a visit to the lifeboat station to present coxswain, Victor Sutherland, with a cheque for £250 to support the lifeboat.
The money was accumulated from admission fees, stall holder payments and raffles last month.
Mrs Milne said: “Both our husbands were fishermen, so we know how important a role the lifeboat plays in our community.”
Mr Sutherland added: “It’s a tremendous amount the ladies have raised which will benefit a number of local charities including ourselves, the RNLI, the charity which saves lives at sea.
“It will help us to continue our work. On behalf of everyone at the Fraserburgh Lifeboat Station, we would like to thank Moira and Denise for their hard work and, of course, everyone who contributed.
“Its very much appreciated by all of us here.”
Last month, the volunteer crew at Fraserburgh raised more than £750 themselves as they organised a day of car washing and a community barbecue.
The team battled wet weather to put the shine on dozens of vehicles.
The Trent class lifeboat – a 47ft vessel with a range of about 250 miles – was also open for members of the public to look around.
And, in early September, a South African Christian leader stopped off at the station as part of a Aberdeenshire tour.
Lifeboat crewman Kenneth Ritchie said the Rev Dr Richard Ngomane was “genuinely interested” in the history of the station.
