Police are investigated an armed robbery at a north-east shop.
It is understood a male entered the Spar shop in St Modans Place, Fraserburgh, and presented a weapon before leaving with a low three-figure sum of cash and other items.
The suspect is described as being a white male, between 5ft10 to 6ft in height, and was wearing safety glasses and had tape on his face.
He was wearing a light grey bomber jacket, dark bottoms with a light coloured stripe running down the side, a black hat and gloves.
Detective Sergeant Martyn Thomson said: “Thankfully no one was hurt during the incident, however the staff member who was in the shop at the time was understandably shaken.
“A full investigation including speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV is underway and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time in question and saw anything suspicious to contact Police.
“Likewise anyone who saw a person matching the description provided either before the time of the robbery or after should come forward. You may have vital information which could assist our investigation.
“Crimes of this nature are extremely rare in the community and I can assure the public that the safety and security of businesses in the area is a priority for Police.”
