An oil and gas worker has been fined for attacking a bouncer in an Aberdeen nightclub.
Allan Hain appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday and admitted lashing out on June 6 while he was out socialising with friends in Nox.
The court heard that Hain, of Bethany View, Aberdeen, had been on a crowded dance floor, shortly after 1am, when Kieran Faulkner bumped into him.
Fiscal depute, Jamie Dunbar, said that the 28-year-old took exception to this and lifted his hand to push him away, but ended up striking him on the nose causing it to bleed.
Representing the first offender, solicitor Kevin Longino responded his client was a regular at the club and had never been in trouble before.
He said the engineer felt terrible after the incident and that he had no intention of ever being in court again.
Mr Longino added his client had initially meant to push Mr Faulkner away, but had struck him to the face harder than he intended.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin said she accepted he did not set out to cause any trouble and said she believed he was truly remorseful for what had happened.
She fined Hain £400.
