A north-east charity is appealing to businesses across Aberdeen to help with its annual Christmas appeal.
Instant Neighbour, offers support to vulnerable people across the region, and is urgently calling on the help of local businesses to find a new base to run its Giving Tree appeal.
The appeal, which has been running for 25 years, involves organisations – and individuals – picking a gift tag from the charity’s tree with a name, gender and age of a child. They then buy a present for the child, and drop it off at any Giving Tree pop-up location, or at Instant Neighbour headquarters.
The gifts are then distributed to youngsters, to ensure as many from across the north-east as possible have something to open on Christmas Day.
Last year, more than 6,000 presents were donated.
But to sort the huge number of donations made, the charity needs a central location with vehicle access so presents can be collected and distributed.
The premises would be required for approximately four working weeks, from November 21-December 16.
Chief executive Sophy Green said: “The Giving Tree is a hugely successful appeal but heavily relies on the support from the public and companies across the city.
“The Giving Tree appeal helps bring Christmas cheer to thousands of families and children across the north-east, we are determined to ensure we can deliver a happy Christmas to them all.”
Instant Neighbour’s St Machar Drive headquarters are open from 9.30am-4pm, Monday to Friday and 9.30am-1.30pm on Saturday.
