Alex Salmond was putting in the hard yards this morning by helping to push a constituent’s car while out canvassing with a by-election candidate in Aberdeenshire.
The former first minister was out canvassing with Neil Baillie, an SNP candidate in the upcoming Inverurie and District by-election on November 3. The Aberdeenshire Council seat has been made available by the resignation of councillor Martin Kitts-Hayes.
The pictures show Mr Salmond and others helping to push a black Ford Focus in what appears to be an attempt to “jump start” the vehicle.
In a Tweet posted at 6.35am this morning, Mr Salmond wrote: “All part of the canvassing services. Putting in the hard yards in #Inverurie for by-election candidate @neilfainverurie”
