North-east businesses are being urged to go tartan next week to raise cash for Children 1st.
Hundreds of people are expected to go to work dressed in tartan for the fundraiser on Tuesday.
In exchange, employees are expected to make a small donation to the charity, which provides support to children in the area who have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma.
About 50 businesses in the north-east are expected to take part in Tartan Tuesday and are urged to take photos to share online with the hashtag #TartanTuesday.
Later this month, the popular A Touch of Tartan Ball will be held in the Beach Ballroom.
Emma Leiper Finlayson, the regional manager at the charity, said it was great to have so many people signed up already.
She said: “We’re delighted to have the support of so many local businesses for our month of tartan.
“Their generosity and commitment to raising funds for Children 1st is hugely appreciated and makes a wonderful difference to the work we do with vulnerable children in the community.”
Lord Provost of Aberdeen, George Adam, said everyone would have some “tartan lurking in the back of our wardrobes” which would allow them to take part.
He said: “Children 1st’s month of tartan is fun, colourful and so easy for everyone to get involved – from people at work as part of #TartanTuesday, to children at school for Kilts 4 Kids, to the finale Touch of Tartan Ball.
“We hope to have a sea of tartan in the city on Tuesday November 1 – even tying a simple ribbon or bow in your hair or a wearing a tartan tie or plaid socks is enough to get involved.”
The Touch of Tartan Ball will be held on November 18.
