A north-east children’s charity is aiming to generate thousands to support vulnerable young people across the region at its biggest annual fundraiser.
Befriend a Child, which looks out for youngsters across the north-east, will hold its Big Kids Ball at Ardoe House Hotel and Spa, near Blairs, on February 24.
This year’s event – which featured a Night at the Circus theme – raised £50,000 for good causes after attracting 300 guests.
Income from the event will allow the charity to recruit a new support worker, who through the role will assist up to 35 children.
Chief executive of Befriend a Child, Jackie Hothersall, said the event, which will feature live music and entertainment, promises to be a big hit.
She added: “The annual Big Kids Ball is a firm fixture in not only our calendar but lots of our supporters too and we are delighted to be able to bring our guests another exciting event which will be a fantastic night for all.
“Each year we continue to be amazed by the generosity of our supporters and hope to continue working with them to deliver the best possible services to children across the north-east.”
Befriend a Child have been supporting children and young people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire for more than 40 years, and is currently looking after 300 people.
Befriend a Child also uses funds to establish school mentoring projects, which are currently being piloted in Inverurie and Peterhead.
Tables for the 2017 Big Kids Ball are now available to book and are priced at £750 for a table of 10. The event will be held from 7pm until 1am. To book call Katie Watters on 01224 210060 or e-mail k.watters@befriendachild.org.uk
