Three men have been cautioned after attempting to sell kitchen items, including knives, on a door-to-door basis without a licence.
The men, all in their 30s, were selling knives, pots and pans, and other items in the Brickfield Road area of Stonehaven on Tuesday night.
The police were alerted after a number of householders became suspicious and officers subsequently discovered the trio did not possess pedlar’s licences, which are required to carry out mobile trade.
The force confirmed the men had been given a verbal warning.
A police spokeswoman called on anyone who is suspicious about similar traders to contact 101.
