A man will appear in court today following an alleged glass attack at an Aberdeen venue.
Police and ambulance teams were called to the Nox nightclub on the city’s Justice Mill Lane in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Three police vans and two ambulances were dispatched to the scene, just before 2am.
It is understood that the 32-year-old man allegedly assaulted a reveller, and two other people were also injured in the incident.
It is alleged the man struck the victim of the assault with glass.
The individual was restrained by staff, and it is believed police closed the doors to the nightclub for around 20 minutes to prevent anyone entering or leaving the premises.
A spokesman for the Speratus Group, the firm which operates Nox, said: “Police were called, following a scuffle in Nox at around 1.45am, where one person received treatment for minor injuries.
“Our staff worked with police to ensure the situation was resolved as quickly as possible.”
Meanwhile, a teenager was charged in connection with another alleged assault in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident took place on Esslemont Avenue at around 4.20am.
Two men were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment and, following the incident, an 18-year-old man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.
Martin Greig, chairman of the Aberdeen Community Safety Partnership said: “It is shocking that these two serious alleged incidents took place within just hours of each other in the city centre.
“The police work closely with bars, nightclubs and other organisation to ensure everyone can enjoy all that Aberdeen’s rich nightlife has to offer in a safe manner.
“There could be any number of reasons behind these two horrific alleged attacks, but one could be that it was during the busy weekend leading up to Halloween.
“I would advise anyone enjoying the Aberdeen nightlife to do so safely and responsibly.
“Be sure not to walk home alone if possible, and always tell someone where you are going before going on a night out.”
