A toddler is in serious condition today after falling four storeys from a block of flats in Aberdeen.
Emergency crews were called to the scene in the Balnagask area of the city at 1.30pm yesterday afternoon after the boy fell from the building.
Ambulance staff treated the toddler at the scene before rushing him to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We took a young child to hospital. We were called at 1.30pm.
“The patient was in a serious condition. It’s not thought to be life-threatening.
“We had one ambulance and one paramedic response unit. It was in the garden.”
The youngster was initially taken to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
He is said to be in a “stable but critical” condition.
Police Scotland, which is not treating the incident as a criminal act, said inquires are “ongoing”.
A spokesman said: “Police Scotland was made aware of reports at around 1.40pm of a two-year-old boy who had fallen from a window at a property in the Balnagask area of Torry on Monday.
“The youngster was taken to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for initial assessment but has since been transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow, where he is in a critical but stable condition.”
