Emergency services were called out to a north-east forest after reports of a woman being stuck in a ditch with a horse.
Scottish Ambulance Service received a call just before 2.30pm about the incident at Dykehead, Aboyne.
A SAS spokesman said the incident involved a woman in her thirties.
Fire teams from Aberdeen, Aboyne and Ballater were also sent out but a spokeswoman said they were not required. She added the woman had “self-released”.
A SAS spokesman added the woman was checked over by paramedics but did not need to go to hospital.
