New traffic signs warning motorists of deer will be erected across Aberdeen as part of efforts to crackdown on collisions.
Aberdeen City Council has identified 10 new spots for warnings all over the city based on the highest occurrences of deer being struck and killed by vehicles.
New locations include the Beach Esplanade, Redmoss Road in Kincorth, Cragieburn Park in Cragiebuckler, and the Chapel of Stoneywood to Fairley road.
The possibility of using mobile signs to prevent accidents in areas where deer populations are especially high has also been raised.
A deer management report from the authority said: “Consideration is being given to using a mobile variable message sign on the North Deeside Road in Mannofield at times of the year when deer are most likely to be moving through the area and at times of day when traffic is busy, for example early November and around March.
“Other sites are also being considered for the use of the variable message signs as these are thought to be more effective than the permanent deer signs.”
The new signs will be installed over the next few months.
