UPDATE: Aberdeen fireworks display 2016 has been cancelled due to bad weather.

Heading to Aberdeen’s fireworks spectacular tonight? Well here is everything you need to know about the big event.

WHERE IS IT HELD AND WHEN DOES IT START?

It takes place at the city’s Beach Boulevard. Fire jugglers and a charity firewalk kick off at 7pm, followed by a 20-minute fireworks display set to music from 8pm.

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO SEE THE DISPLAY?

The best vantage points for the display are around the Beach Boulevard, Queen’s Links and Esplanade areas.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET TO THE FIREWORKS SHOW?

Aberdeen City Council are urging people to use public transport or the Park and Ride services from Bridge of Don, Kingswells and Souter Head Road.

They all have drop off and pick up points very close to the display area.

IS THERE ANY PARKING AVAILABLE?

No, there isn’t any dedicated parking spaces. There is
a limited amount of parking for Blue Badge holders only on Links Road between Urquhart Road and the Beach Ballroom with access via Urquhart Road. Don’t forget your blue badge and spaces are
available on a first come first served basis. After the event, please be patient as you will need to wait for the crowds to leave before you are allowed to drive away.

WHAT TIME DO THE ROADS CLOSE AND RE-OPEN?

The majority of the roads close at 6.00pm and re-open at 9.30pm. Full details on the road closures and traffic restrictions can be found online at www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/winterfestival
