Gritters have been in force today as the snow landed in the north and north-east.
Aberdeenshire Council have sent the vehicles out on “High priority routes” while the Cairngorm Park authority have also reported a dusting of the white stuff.
Blustery and cold weather has been battering the north of the country today with brief outbreaks of sunshine.
The Met Office predicts for this evening: “Further showers, heavy at times, and again wintry on high ground with further snowfalls on the hills, perhaps settling on higher routes. Staying windy with coastal gales towards Fraserburgh. Minimum Temperature 0 °C.”
Tomorrow should be much of the same with more cold and windy weather.
The rain should die down by the start of next week before clearing on Wednesday.
