This image shows the scene at a north-east ski centre this morning as the first major snowfall of the year hits local mountains.
Aberdeenshire Council gritters have been put on standby, whilst the snowgates on the A93 Glenshee road were closed earlier this morning due to the wintry weather.
Yesterday afternoon the Lecht Ski Centre issued a brief statement simply declaring “its(sic) snowing” to its Facebook page.
And this morning the resort’s web came showed the slopes filling in with snow.
And the A939 Lecht Road road has been closed at Tomintoul, near the B9008 junction, due to heavy snow.

It comes as the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team posted footage of a whiteout from Lochnagar, between Braemar and Ballater, showing the Arctic landscape this weekend.
Last week the rescuers warned walkers to be prepared if heading to the mountains this weekend, declaring winter officially here.
The Met Office said temperatures would drop to -3C on the peaks and down to 0C in inland regions in the north and north-east, with sleet and hail hitting as far east as Aberdeen yesterday.
In the city, the poor weather led to the annual fireworks display being cancelled.
