Stephanie Longmuir and Beth Paterson, both 24, took home £11,250 after appearing on BBC One’s Pointless. The pair won the jackpot prize after choosing Hollywood star Neil Patrick Harris when asked to name any cast member of the film Gone Girl. Stephanie told the Evening Express: “I’m still overwhelmed. I was really surprised when we won. “Our main aim was just not to embarrass ourselves. “We never thought for a minute we would get to the final. “Even when we put our answers in I thought our pointless answer was going to get 10 so I was really, really surprised. “Since the recording I have got engaged so the money will go towards the wedding. “I was so nervous. I never thought it would be but it was really fun.” Beth said: “It was really cool and a very surreal experience. Everyone was so nice and Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman were both really fun. “Winning was very shocking and neither of us thought it would happen. Our main aim was just not to embarrass ourselves. It was very overwhelming.” The episode aired on Friday.
