A children’s charity is hoping it has cemented its place in the north-east with a new installation.
Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (Chas) is the latest organisation to sign up for the Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisation’s (ACVO) friendly bench initiative.
The project was devised to improve the relationship communities have with charities working in the area.
Among the other charities which have taken part are VSA, Cornerstone and Mental Health Aberdeen.
Chas, which recently marked the fifth anniversary of its at home respite service, now has a spot on the Beach Esplanade.
Emma Moore, community fundraiser for the charity, was there to unveil the bench.
She said: “The ACVO Friendly Bench initiative is a fantastic project which brings local organisations and communities together, and so we jumped at the chance to be involved with it.
“The Chas bench, which is inscribed with “what better place to be…”, sits on a beautiful spot on the Aberdeen Promenade, and we hope that people in and around the area will be able to enjoy it for many years to come – making some treasured memories.
“At Chas, we put a huge emphasis on producing memories, so that families make the most of the precious moments that they have together.”
The charity runs Rachel House in Kinross, and Robin House in Balloch, Loch Lomond.
It also runs a home service in Inverness, Kinross and Balloch.
