Firefighters as well as ambulance crews were called to the property on Westerton Crescent in Aberdeen just before 6.40am. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “They were cooking with the toaster which went on fire. “It was out on arrival.” A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman added: “Our North control received a call reporting a fire at 6.39am. “They immediately dispatched a paramedic response unit and a special operation response team. “Arriving on scene within four minutes, paramedics started to check over two elderly patients. “Nobody had to be taken to hospital.”
