The cash was taken from three unattended purses during commemorations at the Sea Cadets base on Porca Quay, Aberdeen, on Sunday. A 34-year-old man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today. Police inspector Carron McKellar said: “I would like to thank members of the public for their assistance during enquiries into this incident.” The event on Sunday was attended by the executive officer and crew of the Royal Navy destroyer HMS Diamond.
