An Aberdeen law firm has gone above and beyond to raise thousands of pounds to support cancer victims.
Stronachs LLP selected CLAN Cancer Support as their charity of the year and organised a series of fundraising events with the goal of raising £10,000 for the cause.
But, following a successful ladies’ afternoon tea party, the team managed to double that amount to £20,000.
The workforce amassed the extra funds from bake sales, dress-down days and collection tins in the office.
The cash could help the charity provide up to 1,000 counselling or complementary therapy sessions for people affected by cancer.
Carol Crowther, partner at Stronachs and chair of the firm’s social and charities committee, said: “CLAN Cancer Support acts as a lifeline for many people in Aberdeen and beyond, whose lives have been affected by cancer.
“So it has been a huge honour to help raise funds for them this year.”
Susan Crighton, CLAN’s fundraising manager, added: “We’re so grateful to Stronachs for this extremely generous donation and, indeed, their tremendous support throughout the year.
“We’ve been completely overwhelmed by their efforts.”
