A man has been charged in relation to an alleged assault which left another man seriously injured late last night.
The 32-year-old man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Police were called out to Menzies Road in Torry at around 2am and a cordon was put around the area.
Pc Kevin Souter, from the Aberdeen Divisional Alcohol and Violence Unit, said: “We would like to thank the local community for their patience while this incident was dealt with.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to stress that this was a contained and isolated incident, and that at no point was there any threat posed to any other members of the public.

A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital after the alleged incident.
