Police are appealing to members of the public after a nine-year-old boy was approached by a man in a north-east town.
The boy, who has not been named, was spoken to be a man in the Noble Street area of Fraserburgh on Thursday, November 17, at about 4.30pm.
It is understood he was spoken to by the man.
Police are searching for him to establish why.
The man is described as aged 21 to 40 years old, and being 5’8″.
He has a proportionate build and at the time was wearing a black jacket with hood, white or grey jogging bottoms, and had a scarf covering his mouth.
Sergeant Martin MacDougall said: “The boy was not injured in any way but was a little shaken by this man’s approach. There is nothing to suggest that any criminality has taken place however we want to trace this man so we can establish why he spoke to the child.
“It is also believed another male who was wearing a fluorescent jacket may have been in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident. We would like to speak to him also.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
