Thousands of people descended on Aberdeen city centre this evening to catch a glimpse of the annual Christmas Parade.
Residents of the city stood on both sides of Union Street and watch on in awe as a parade including a pipe band, reindeer, a nativity scene, elves and Santas walked down the street.
The parade began on Albyn Place and the annual procession made its way along the Granite Mile before finishing up under the shadow of the newly installed Christmas tree at the Castlegate.
Songs which could be heard along the way included Wonderful Christmas Time, I Wish It Could be Christmas Every Day along Jingle Bells.
