Two men have been charged in connection with the alleged theft of a number of vehicles.
A 19-year-old man from Aberdeen is expected to appear in Aberdeen Sheriff Court today after a black Audi A1 was reported missing from the Albury Place area of Aberdeen on November 15.
Additionally, a black Audi A5 and Mercedes ML270 were reported missing from an address in the Forfar area on November 16.
Following a series of thefts from vehicles in the Buckie and Findochty area during October and November, a local 18-year-old man has also been charged. He is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.
Buckie Inspector Ewan Strachan said: “I would particularly like to thank locals for their assistance throughout our investigations.”
Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam added: “Once again I would urge the public to ensure their home security is a priority. Make sure the doors to your home and vehicles are locked at all times, even when you are at home, and keep any valuables out of sight. If you have security lights or alarms make use of them, and let Police know if you see any suspicious activity as soon as possible.
“Taking some simple precautions could save you a lot of time, trouble and expense in the long run. Anyone with concerns or information should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
