Since the beginning of last year, 11 gangs have been smashed by the police in efforts to stop drugs reaching the streets. Cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis with a street value of £944,960 has also been recovered. And more than £150,000 in cash – linked to gangs – has been reclaimed. Last night, 16 warrants were carried out in total. Five people were arrested on apprehension warrants, and seven were detained in relation to drug offences. Of those people, 10 were eventually charged with drugs related crimes. Officers seized £1,600 in cash.
