A man has been taken to hospital in critical condition after a blaze at an Aberdeen home.
Crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the property on King’s Crescent just before 6am this morning.
The man was given CPR by firefighters before being transferred into the care of paramedics.
He was later taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he remains in critical condition.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the man was unconscious when he was pulled out of the building.
A fire spokesman said: “An unconscious male was removed from the property and received CPR while awaiting arrival of the ambulance at 5.55am.
“It was a block of flats with three floors. The fire was on the ground floor.
“Crews evacuated people from the neighbouring properties and continued to ventilate before cutting away.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received an emergency call from the fire service at 5.50am to attend the incident.
“A full special operations response team was in attendance along with a local ambulance.
“A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.”
A police spokeswoman said a joint police and fire investigation was underway into the incident this morning.
Other patients were checked over by the ambulance service but were discharged at the scene.
