A special package tourist will visit Fraserburgh this weekend to signal the last market festival of the year.
Yes, the bold Santa Claus is attending the Broch’s Super Saturday event, which has been running since 2013.
It invites businesses from the area and further afield to the port for a traditional farmer’s market-style event.
The initiative, which is staged six times a year, regularly features activities for families to enjoy, and has been widely hailed by local councillors for getting people interested in the town centre again.
Super Saturday is on December 10 and organisers insist it will be “fun-filled for everyone”.
Event co-ordinator Leona Findlay explained: “There will be some well-known stallholders attending, but we have attracted some new ones too.
“Visitors to the Super Saturdays won’t be disappointed with the packed programme we have in store for them.
“A lot of work has gone in to making the Super Saturdays successful, but none of it would happen without the hard work and dedication of the strong team of volunteers and business owners, who are determined to breathe life back into the town centre.
Among the attractions this weekend, the local lifeboat crew is committed to delivering Santa to Fraserburgh.
The crew, led by coxswain Victor Sutherland, will bring the VIP visitor ashore at 10.30am before he departs on a tour of the town centre.
Super Saturday lasts until 3.30pm.
Next year’s events will take place on May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9 and December 9.
The Scottish SPCA has appealed for help to run their stall at the market this Saturday.
Volunteers are urged to call the charity on 03000 999 999 or email fundraising@scottishspca.org
