A 41-year-old man has died in hospital after a blaze at an Aberdeen home.
Police have confirmed Charles MacDonald died of his injuries in hospital yesterday.
Mr MacDonald was taken to hospital in critical condition on Monday morning after the fire at the city’s Kings Crescent.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the man was unconscious when he was pulled out of the building.
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “His next of kin have been informed and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“A joint fire and police investigation has been carried out and there are no suspicious circumstances.”
On Monday, a spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a joint investigation with the police had been launched.
He said: “An unconscious male was removed from the property and received CPR while awaiting arrival of the ambulance at 5.55am.
“It was a block of flats with three floors. The fire was on the ground floor.
“Crews evacuated people from the neighbouring properties and continued to ventilate before cutting away.
