A four-figure sum of money was taken during a break-in at a Bridge of Don home.
Police said entry was forced into the home near Westfield Park sometime between 11am and 2pm yesterday, while the occupant was out.
Detective Constable Norman McGlashan said: “This was a despicable incident in which an elderly female was targeted and a substantial amount of money stolen.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any suspicious activity to contact Police as soon as possible. It’s understood two young males dressed in black were seen in the area around the times in question who we would be interested in speaking to.
“We are following lines of enquiry in relation to this incident, however I would urge local people to keep an eye on older or more vulnerable neighbours as a precaution.
“Anyone with information should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
