Proposals to build accommodation for more than 600 student have been backed by councillors.
The plans, for Merkland Road East and a site on Pittodrie Steet, will involve the demolition of existing buildings to make way for flats for 618 students.
Members of the city council’s planning development management committee unanimously agreed to approve the plans from developers Watkins Jones.
Councillors heard there would be no parking provision for students and tenants would be told under tenancy agreement that cars must not be left in the area.
A total of nine objections were lodged against the development, with concerns including increased noise, disturbance during construction and a loss of privacy for overlooked flats.
