Officers attended Banff Academy after reports of the raid first emerged. A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed an investigation has been launched but was unable to say whether anything had been taken. She said: “Police are investigating a break-in at Banff Academy which happened between 1am and 2am today. “Enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone with information to get in touch.” Anyone with information is urged to contact the police by dialling 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111.
