Architecture students at Robert Gordon University have created a new colouring book for adults, featuring some of the north-east’s most famous landmarks.
The publication contains designs and artworks based on a number of iconic sights and locations from around Aberdeen, including St Machar Cathedral, the Sports Village and the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The project follows on from a similar scheme which was run by the university last year, and has been created to showcase some of the city’s most inspirational architectural sites.
It was produced by first-year RGU and International College at RGU (ICRGU) students, who were tasked with designing an Aberdeen-themed version of the popular colouring books for grown-ups which have captured the country’s imagination.
Amar Bennadji, a lecturer at RGU, said: “After the popularity of last year’s task and the incredible work put in by students, we decided to run it again focusing on different themes.
“The students have worked in groups and have managed to capture some of the inspirational architecture which exists in the Granite City. Now, others will have the opportunity to inject colour into these images.”
Their sketches have been collated into a single book, and a limited run of copies have been produced for anyone who wishes to brighten up the Granite City with a little bit of colour.
Anybody wishing to pick up a free copy can do so from the RGU Library or the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture this week.
