A north-east woman has been banned from the roads after being caught more than three times over the drink-drive limit.
Holly Ross, who lives at Fittick Place in Cove Bay, Aberdeen, was pulled over by police on November 20 and later failed a breath test.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence at the city’s sheriff court yesterday.
The court heard that police received reports of how Ross was driving “erratically”.
Officers later traced her driving on Nelson Street, close to its junction with Nelson Lane, and pulled her over.
She subsequently failed a roadside breath test before she was taken into custody.
Court papers revealed Ross had 69 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 22mcg.
Defence agent Alex Burn told the court Ross had sank into a depression after losing her job in the oil and gas industry.
He said she could come up with no real explanation why she had decided to drive that day, but added it was the first time she had been in trouble with the police.
Ross was “apologetic” and had admitted the offence from the beginning, but was now hopeful she would come before the courts.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin said she took into account it was Ross’s first offence and disqualified her from driving for a year and also fined her £500.
