Santa Clause once again parked up his sleigh outside the north-east’s flagship hospital to spread festive cheer to staff and patients at a busy cancer ward.
Taking a break from his busiest time of year, Father Christmas visited the ANCHOR unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Saint Nicholas spent this morning in the north-east’s main cancer and haematology care facility handing out gifts to those who will not spend time at home with their families this year as they battle the disease.
The Kilted Chef, Craig Wilson, chef and proprietor of Eat on the Green accompanied Santa and his elves, handing out Christmas foodie treats to the staff and patients.
This year, Kings Community Church donated £2,500 to purchase the gifts for the annual visit.
Church concert organiser, Rachael West said: “We are honoured to play a part in bringing some Christmas spirit to those in the ANCHOR unit over the holiday period.
“The work that Friends of ANCHOR do to support patients and staff all year round is something to celebrate and we are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to help make a small difference.
“We are absolutely delighted that the money we raised at our Christmas concert can help make the patients’ time in hospital just a little brighter at this time of year.”
James Milne, chairman of the Friends of ANCHOR added: “The Santa visit never fails to attract smiles and laughter around the wards and clinics at the ANCHOR unit and adds a touch of Christmas magic which is truly wonderful to see.”
