Thieves have stolen more than £10,000 from an Aberdeen bus depot after breaking in during the early hours.
A five-figure sum is reported to have been taken from the Stagecoach North Scotland premises following the raid yesterday morning.
The depot acts as the operator’s main hub in Aberdeen for transport around the region and nationwide.
Police Scotland are appealing for the public to come forward with information about the incident.
A force spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a report has been received of a theft following a break-in at a commercial premises in the Guild Street area of Aberdeen in the early hours of Monday.
“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information has been urged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
“It is believed a low five-figure sum of cash was taken.”
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach North Scotland said: “We are assisting police with their inquiries in to this matter.
“We would encourage anyone with any information to contact Police Scotland.”
