Four teenagers have been charged in connection with a high-speed chase which left three police cars and five other vehicles damaged.
The pursuit, along the A90 Aberdeen-Fraserburgh road, ensued on Monday morning after a Mercedes was reported missing from the Union Grove area of the city.
The car was later recovered at Blackdog.
Three boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, and a girl, aged 16, have now been charged in connection with the incident.
The group, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday where they made no plea or declaration.
The 17-year-old has been remanded in custody while the other three have been released on bail.
They are due to appear at court again within a week.
The chase caused traffic chaos on the road after it erupted about 8am.
At the time of the incident witnesses claimed the red A180 was travelling in the wrong direction on the northbound carriageway.
The stolen car was spotted turning off before the Murcar roundabout into the Hill of Tramaud landfill site before it crashed into a field.
Two police cars also ended up in the field and both had to be pulled out by the site manager’s tractor.
Dave Walls, Hill of Tramaud supervisor, had watched the events unfold at 7am after opening up the site.
He said: “They were all completely stuck in the field I had to pull out the car and the two police cars. They obviously didn’t know the area if they came up here – it’s a dead end.”
Residents at Blackdog saw a large police presence on the road at about 8.30am.
No one was injured as a result.
Police have confirmed inquiries are ongoing.
