A long-awaited meeting between Scotland’s transport minister and Aberdeenshire residents, concerned about ongoing work on the £745million Aberdeen bypass, will take place next month.
Humza Yousaf will take questions during the event at The Sanctuary in Cults Parish Church from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on January 30.
Problems with run-off from the construction site polluting the River Dee and damage to fields have been among the issues raised by residents.
North-east MSP Ross Thomson organised the meeting and said: “We wanted the minister to come to the north-east and see for himself some of the difficulties local residents have faced, but also to meet those affected and hear their concerns first-hand.
“There are genuine concerns about the impact on the environment, particularly on the tributaries of the River Dee and also over damage to surrounding farmland.
“Clearly, with a project of this size, there will always be some problems, but many residents feel their views have simply been ignored.”
