Aberdeen City Council leader, Jenny Laing, expressed delight at the fashion in which Granite City people had made refugees feel welcome.
She said: “I am proud that Aberdeen City Council, our community partners and Aberdonians have been able to support families from Syria who have endured hardship and turmoil.
“It is gratifying Syrian refugees have been able to integrate into their local communities.
“At this time of year, our thoughts are always with our loved ones and those most vulnerable in society, so it is especially comforting to observe first-hand how Syrian refugees are adapting to life in Aberdeen.
“I would like to put on record how proud I am as leader of Aberdeen City Council at how welcoming the residents of our friendly city have been towards the Syrian refugees.”
