As families in Inverurie were putting the finishing touches on their festive meals the lights went out in more than 800 homes. An SSE spokesman said: “There was a power cut in Inverurie at 1.30pm. “A total of 860 homes are affected. “We have engineers heading to the town and estimate that power will be restored by between 4.30pm and 5pm. “We apologise for any inconvenience course.”
