A man has been charged with attempted murder following a Boxing Day disturbance.
Police said they were called to a top floor flat in the Aberdeen suburb of Peterculter in the early hours of December 26 amid reports that a house party had “gone wrong”.
A man in his 50s was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance. He is understood to be in stable condition.
Police said they had detained a man in connection with an alleged serious assault.
Patryck Pietrusewicz, 36, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
He was charged with assault to severe injury and attempted murder.
Pietrusewicz made no plea and no declaration and was released on bail.
His next court appearance is still to be confirmed.
Police officers stood guard outside the block of flats in Johnston Gardens on Boxing Day as investigations got under way.
Forensic teams also attended at the property.
