Police have renewed their appeal for help to track down the “professional” thieves who stole motorbikes worth more than £10,000.
Four Suzuki scramblers were taken from Hillside Farm, near Portsoy, last Tuesday between 12.30am and 11.30am.
The thieves, who removed a window to get into the shed where the bikes were kept, also stole electrical items and helmets.
Police are now urging members of the public who may have seen a vehicle in the area – particularly a dark 4×4 which was spotted on the A96 near Marshall Trailers a few hours after the theft.
The scramblers were owned by Will Simmonds, his brother Michael and their dad Kenneth.
They have offered a £2,000 reward for any information that leads to a conviction.
Mr Simmonds said: “The bikes were only about two years old.
“The garage they were in was as secure as we could have made it.
“It was boarded up and bolted, but they’ve pulled the beading out of the window to pull the glass pane out.”
Last night, Detective Constable Richard Cooper said: “The bikes in question are extremely distinctive and I would ask anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible.
“Have you been offered similar bikes for sale? Or have you seen anything similar being used where you live? Please let us know.
“It is likely another vehicle was used to remove the bikes from the property they were taken from, and as such I would appeal for anyone who saw suspicious people or activity during the times in question to get in touch.
“In particular we are keen to hear from anyone with information about a dark 4×4 which was seen on the A96 near to Marshall Trailers at around 6am.”
Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
