A budget hotel chain will open its doors in Peterhead later this month.
Travelodge has transformed an eyesore site in Chapel Street into a 63-bedroom hotel and now developers have confirmed the branch is due to be open to guests by the end of January.
Developers Ardent Group will officially hand the building to the hotel chain on January 16, with an opening date expected around one week later.
The building includes five disabled access bedrooms and space for 24 vehicles in the rear car park.
Refurbished shop units either side of the hotel remain open for rent.
Ardent Group director Robin Keane said: “Ardent Group is proud to open Travelodge in the town centre and we expect it will be very successful with high occupancy.”
Local councillor Alan Gardiner, who was involved in bringing the project forward, added: “The fact that Travelodge is a well-known brand will help attract other brands to the town.
“Attracting investors and developers is a key step in the regeneration of Peterhead.”
Chapel Street had been in economic decline for years before Travelodge announced plans to take over a derelict building to open a 63-bedroom hotel.
