A north-east community group has launched an appeal for help tracking down a replacement cabin for its volunteers.
Buchan Dial-a-Community Bus service is based out of Peterhead and is used by local people with mobility issues for help getting to and from shops and meetings around the town.
But the cabin it uses as an office, in Maiden Street, has started to fall into disrepair.
It has left the group in a race to find a replacement before it has to finally be retired.
Riian McGarthland has been employed by the charity since 2008.
She said the security of the cabin itself has started raising question marks.
“Despite numerous repairs and attempts to address the issues, repairs are becoming more costly each year, with no noticeable difference to the project,” she said.
“There is water damage to the roof and floor and the paint is peeling back to the plywood interior walls. This is causing damp in the interior.”
“The security of the cabin is also of great concern as the doors have moved in their frame and the security grills covering the windows are rusting away.”
It is believed that the state of the cabin at present is also preventing more volunteers from coming forward, with the charity relying on access to a public toilet for running water.
“If we can provide a cleaner, more inviting environment for the project, volunteers would be more willing to help out for a few hours a week and allow us to open the project up for the afternoon sessions as in previous years,” Miss McGarthland added.
